A Light in the Darkness

I dreamed often of the day I would embark into the journey of motherhood, imagining the beauty of the moment I would hold my first baby in my arms.

But it didn’t happen like that at all.

The birth of my firstborn was one of the darkest hours I’ve faced.

I lay there on an operating table alone in my worry-filled thoughts, fears caving in around me. As a team of doctors flurried about me to prepare for the emergency c-section, I was surrounded by chaos.

My thoughts screamed out to God to save my baby—why was He allowing her to come too soon?

I didn’t understand.

But the words of a soft spoken neonatologist gleamed in the darkness, assuring my heart God was in control.

And He still is.

I’m privileged to be guest posting over at Mary Beth’s place (New Life Steward) today as part of her ongoing series, When Motherhood Comes Softly.  I’d love for you to take a moment to read how God spoke softly to me the day of Cami's birth.

What about you?  Has there been a moment in your life that God used someone to speak specifically to you? If so, I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
