"Around here we write for five minutes flat on Fridays. We set a timer, throw caution to the winds and try to remember what it was like to just write without worrying if it’s just right or not." (The Gypsy Mama, host of Five-Minute Fridays).
Today's Writing Prompt: Gift
There are many gifts I can give to others; there are many gifts I myself have received.
The greatest gift is that of salvation. God sent His precious, holy, perfect Son down to earth, to pay for the price of sin—my sin—that I might receive His greatest gift: eternal life!
This was all made possible by grace (“For BY GRACE are ye saved through faith…” Eph.2:8a) , and God's grace is a gift that He desires for me to keep on giving!
At times, I may feel that I have been wronged by people and as a result I become frustrated with situations and circumstances. However, when I seek to justify my feelings by choosing to respond in anger or bitterness toward others, that is not pleasing to the Lord—that is not grace!
The best way I can demonstrate Christ’s love to others is to offer—as He so lovingly offers to me time and time again!—the gift of grace: through my words, actions and forgiveness (even when they may not have asked).
Even though I often fail to demonstrate this gift to others as I should, I’m so thankful God’s grace is everlasting; a gift that He keeps on giving!
God is faithful and His grace abounds!
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18
What is something the Lord has been using in your life to teach (or remind) you of his unending grace? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
