This Journey Our Life

My Sisters, My Friends

Family, Five-minute friday, personal, personal accountsRachel

"We write because we love words and the relief it is to just write them without worrying if they’re just right or not. So we take five minutes on Friday and write like we used to run when we were kids.
On Fridays we write with gusto, unselfconscious and flat out." (the Gypsy Mama, host of Five-Minute Fridays).

Today's Prompt: Together

I have three sisters, each of whom I love dearly!

Holly—my sister.
Because we are only fourteen months apart, I never remember a day she has not been in my life. She is cheerful, encouraging, and always willing to offer advice and help—especially when it comes to Cami (Holly works with special needs children).

Leslie—my little sister.

I was only seven years old when she was born but remember the day as if it were yesterday.  She is caring, compassionate and hard working. She is also sensitive to the needs of others, so it is not surprising that she is currently pursuing a nursing degree (and she has already completed her CNA!).

Kelsey is the youngest—my baby sister
There are exactly 12 1/2 years between us, but the age difference doesn’t affect our close bond which may also be due to the fact that we have many similarities—in personality, interests, and dislikes. Kelsey is energetic, funny, talkative and a social butterfly. There is never a dull (or quiet!) moment when she’s around!

I love everything about my sisters and I’m thankful to have each one of them as part of my family—as part of my life.

We share, laugh, fight tease, and talk, and talk, and talk, among so many other things. Though it does not happen as often as we would like, we cherish each time we can be together.

And this weekend?

We will be.

What about you? Have you been blessed with sisters? {If not, perhaps you have a close friend you consider to be a sister?} What is a favorite quality you love about your sister (or “sister” friend)? Would love to hear your thoughts about your sister(s)! =)
