Today’s Five-Minute Friday post… where a group of us gather to write for five minutes flat to see what comes out, because “often our perfectionism gets in the way of our words.” (Lisa-Jo, The Gypsy Mama).
The best part? Sharing what we’ve written.
Today’s Writing Prompt: SEE
There is one question I get asked over and over—“What can Cami see?”.
I ramble on about lights, colors, shapes, contrasts and curbs trying to answer as best I can.
I don’t really know.
I know she sees the wind every time it blows the hair back from her face.
She sees the birds when they cheerfully chirp every morning while we wait for her bus.
She sees the ice cream truck from our back yard as the music from “Pop Goes the Weasel” brings a smile to her face before she quickly announces its presence!
She sees the bright beam of the flashlight she holds closely to her eyes.
She sees a fly every time it buzzes too closely to her ear, causing her to run away in tears.
She sees every thing.
I did want to take a moment to thank those of you who have ever asked questions concerning Cami or her vision impairment; we appreciate your care and concern for her and admire the courage you display in asking. In fact, we welcome questions and enjoy every opportunity to share information regarding Cami so that you can get to know her.
