On Saturdays, I share links to a few of the posts I’ve stumbled across throughout my weekly reading, each pertaining to special needs. They won’t be in any particular order, just those I found most helpful or encouraging.   I also share the top post of the week here at This Journey Our Life, which is based solely on number of views.

Around the Blogosphere

I was especially touched in reading this beautiful tribute written by Michelle over at Big Blueberry Eyes, pointing out the beauty of her daughter.  Take a moment to read There Is Beauty and you’ll be touched too.

This post at Hopeful Parents shares the brief encounter of one mom with another mom (each raising sons on the spectrum) and how it taught her about the importance of community.

This week Gillian Marchenko  (whose blog was featured in last week’s wrap-up) featured a guest post written by Dr. Steven Grcevich, MD (President, Board of Directors Key Ministry), entitled A Church for Every ChildTake a look to learn more of his passion for special needs ministry in the church and what Key Ministry is doing to provide support for churches seeking to serve children with disabilities and their families.

When God Speaks, by Ellen Stumbo hit close to home since God also closed the door for us to be missionaries, making it clear He was calling us to stay.  An amazing testimony to how God leads in our lives.

Often parents who are raising children with medically fragile needs have a unique set of challenges which they face. This post from Different Dream features a great resource for such parents, a book (Uncommon Beauty: Crisis Parenting from Day One) written for parents raising medically fragile child by a parent familiar with the journey.

Around Here

31 Days of Support—Day 11: How I feel about my daughter’s struggle to communicate, was this week’s top post. So if you haven’t had the chance yet, feel free to check it out.

From the list above, which one did you enjoy most? Or maybe there’s a link that you’d like to share? Feel free to do so in the comments!

Enjoy your weekend! =)
