This Journey Our Life

A Thanksgiving Thank You {Five Minute Friday}

devotional, Faith, Five-minute fridayRachel

It’s Five Minute Friday! Where a group of us join together for five minutes of writing without worrying about if it’s just right or not, hosted by the lovely Lisa-Jo.

This week’s Five Minute Friday is the Thanksgiving edition (as you can tell in the prompt). Lisa-Jo also announced that Five Minute Friday will be taking a break during the month of December but will resume in January.

PROMPT:  THANK YOU

GO

Many times I’ve asked for You to help.

Many times I’ve asked for You to give.

Even more than the times I’ve asked?

The numerous times You’ve given from your goodness and I’ve been blessed to receive.

There have also been the prayers I've never formulated into words. Only quiet whispers from the thoughts of my heart.

Yet still You heard them.

As I begin to recall everything you’ve given, I stand in awe of everything you’ve done.

But my words feel like failures, inadequately expressing the gratitude overflowing in my heart.

I’m thankful.

For Who You are.

For all You’ve done.

On this day I come into Your presence with thanksgiving, desiring to make a joyful noise unto You!

And the music is tears flowing from an overwhelmed heart.

As I bow my head to say,

Thank You.

STOP

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.

Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
